Space Pen – Part 2

When we last left off, one pear’s precious space pen had been destroyed (click here to read part 1):

“You broke it!”

“I got you a new space pen!”

“Oh I love my space pen.”

(Although easily angered and annoyed, Angry Pear is not heartless.)

Angry Pear Game!

My very talented friend Monika made this choose your own adventure game as a final project for one of her programming classes. She used Angry Pear as her inspiration, pulling images from the blog. The entire story and concept is her creation, and I think she did a fantastic job of capturing Angry Pear’s spirit.

Click here to begin your adventure!

(And yes, she and I both know about the typos in the game. She made this at two in the morning in about one hour. Typos are to be expected!)

Expozine Pictures and Interview

Expozine was so much fun. I wanted to say thanks to those of you who stopped by. It was really great meeting you in person. The whole experience was so rewarding. I get such a kick out of seeing people enjoy these pears as much as I do.

I was also interviewed by the Montreal-based online journal GeeKorner. Check out the interview (there are more pictures!)

Little pears made out of polymer in an escargot dish.

Holiday and blank greeting cards (also available online at Angry Pear’s Etsy Shop).

Comics from some of my favorite blog posts and a brand new comic introducing Angry Pear. (These will soon be available in the Angry Pear shop).

Postcards with some of my favorite panels (like Leaf Extensions and Angry Pear vs. The Mood Ring).

Me.

So thanks again for coming by and being suppeartive! I hope to attend Expozine again next year and more craft fairs in the Montreal area.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Angry Pear goes to Expozine

Angry Pear will be at Expozine 2011 this year in Montreal. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and see Angry Pear and many other small publishers and comic book artists that will be displaying there. I’ll be selling mini-comic books, pear cards, little polymer pears, and pins. You can preview some of them in Angry Pear’s Etsy shop.

EXPOZINE, Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27, 2011, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5035 St-Dominique (Église Saint-Enfant Jésus, Laurier Métro). Free admission.

Please note: Angry Pear will only be there on Saturday. Not Sunday.

For more information on the event and to see the other vendors, visit Expozine’s website.

The Versatile Blogger Award!

Last week Mature Student Hanging in the There passed The Versatile Blogger Award on to Angry Pear. I’m really honored by this, and I’m happy to pass the award along to 15 other blogs that I enjoy.

But first the Rules of the Award:

Rule 1 – Thank the person who nominated you for the award:

Thank you Jacqueline! Although I only recently started reading Mature Student Hanging in There, I’m hooked. As her blog title suggests, she writes a lot about the challenges and successes of returning to school, but tempers her stories with humor and relatable anecdotes. What I find particularly lovely about her blog is that, while readers may not share her experiences exactly, she manages to captivate her audience and make her tales universal.

Rule 2 – List seven things people may not know about you:

1. Pears are not my favorite fruit to eat.

2. I don’t own a cellular phone.

3. I like Victorian novels—Vanity Fair is one of my favorites.

4. I like to knit and design my own sweaters and dresses.

5. I enjoy the “occasional” cocktail.

6. Like Angry Pear, I am easily peeved.

7. I am a fan of Doctor Who.

Rule 3 – Nominate 15 blogs you think should receive this award:

Here’s a list of the blogs I enjoy. It was hard to limit the list to just 15. They are all over the map in terms of style, topic and execution, but they are all lovely!

In no particular order:

  1. Tales of Thyme and Place
  2. HP Comic
  3. Lack of Cohesive Plot
  4. Dodeline Design
  5. What Have you Done Now?
  6. Jordebot
  7. Illustrate Kate
  8. Esther Duyff
  9. 100 Portraits
  10. Peas and Cougars
  11. The Background Story
  12. The Middlest Sister
  13. Spirited Alchemy
  14. Little Skew
  15. Kitchen Karate
