I’m in a textile design graduate program right now, and every project requires a mood board… (click to enlarge)
By the way, I started a website for my textile stuff (it’s mostly all knitting, but there are a few mood boards!) Here’s the link: drewmckevitt.wordpress.com
Hello! I haven’t posting for a while (a long while) mostly because so many changes have been happening outside of the pear world. I moved in the summer, then moved AGAIN in the fall to start grad school for Textile Design (specializing in knit). So far the semester has been good, and now that I finally feel a bit settled, I decided to start drawing pears again! Hopefully I’ll post them regularly. I’ll probably also post some of my school projects too!
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I was working on a holiday comic for this year, but I haven’t finished it in time. So instead, I’m just going to post some of my favorite comics from past years. (Hope you don’t mind). Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you all for reading my little comic about a grumpy pear. I hope you all have a pleasant holiday!
A few weeks ago, I played Risk for the first time in a long time. I would’ve won except I forgot about the Bering Straight! General Pear risked it all and lost…
For the pear in this last picture, I tried a new technique with the polymer clay. Before baking the pear, I did a transfer with paper and rubbing alcohol to make the face. I like this better.
This is one of my biggest peeves about living in a city, or specifically, living in Montreal. Bikes need to get off the sidewalk! I’m tired of having to jump out of the way! Stop at red lights and stay off the sideWALK. It’s not called the sideROLL. There are bike paths!
I recently started a shop on Society6, and this comic/illustration is available as a print or a t-shirt either with or without the caption. They even have baby onesies (which I think are a really cute). I kept seeing artists I admire that I have stuff on Society6, so I decided to try it.
This one is one of my favorites, because she’s so angry! I made a second watercolor version too. She’s also the month of May in the 2014 Pears of the World Calendar (which is also on sale for nearly 50% off). The thing about this calendar is that you can cut the calendar stuff at the bottom off and have prints after the months are finished!
It’s been four years since I started drawing pears! Things have come a long way since then (certainly in my ability to draw). I joined Etsy where I combined by love of knitting and crafting with my love of pears. I’ve also gotten to meet so many great people through the website and craft fairs. And most importantly, I’ve been able to vent all of my daily grievances through Angry Pear (as opposed to ONLY complaining to friends and family).
I want to thank you all for following these comics– it really means a lot to me.
For my own birthday, I wish I could have a cupcake that is as proportionally large to me as this cupcake is to the pears.
I used to sell these little birthday pears in my Etsy shop, but I’ve sold out and haven’t had a chance to make more. If you’re interested in them though, just send me a note!
